CNPD announces launch of Lusophone data protection network

The National Data Protection Commission (CNPD) formalised a Portuguese-speaking data protection network in Lisbon. This project aims to strengthen the rights of citizens in Portuguese-speaking countries, observing risks and reinforcing prevention. Paula Lourenço, president of the CNPD, points out that this initiative will promote greater capacity to respond to digital security needs in the participating countries, such as Angola, Brazil and Cape Verde, supporting the protection of personal data and the defence of human rights.
