Facebook provides users with an additional security feature due to the military conflict in Ukraine

Followed by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s announcement stating a military operation in Ukraine, Facebook launched a new feature in Ukraine that gives the users authorisation to lock their profiles, “an extra layer of privacy and security” said Facebook’s head of security Nathaniel Gleicher. This feature was also launched in August in Afghanistan and in other situations.

“This is a one-click tool for people in Ukraine to lock down their account by quickly applying existing privacy settings and new features. When their profile is locked, people who aren’t their friends can’t download or share their profile photo or see posts on their timeline,” Gleicher said.
