Google and Apple fined by 10 million by Italy’s regulator

Autorita Garante della Concorrenza and del Mercato (Italy’s authority) fined Google and Apple 10 million euros for violating the principle of transparency of the Consumer Code. The violation took place through the use of user data for commercial purposes. While both companies have provided consumers with insufficient information about the processing of personal data, the AGCM also questioned Google and Apple about what they characterized as "harmful practices" with regard to the processing of personal data carried out by these companies.
