Illegally obtained third-party cookies could enable hackers to authenticate data

According to MediaPost, hackers could authenticate pilfered data by examining third-party cookies and accessing online accounts without requiring a password. Adrianus Warmenhoven, a member of NordVPN's Security Advisory Board, noted that if an active cookie is compromised, an attacker might be able to access your account without needing your password or encountering multifactor authentication.
