Social media apps have a wide variety of child safety levels

Fairplay research found that social media platforms, such as Instagram, Tiktok

and WhatsApp, don’t offer the same level of child safety protections. There are significant differences on identical

platforms depending on the child’s location. There are many digital rights and child

safety advocacy groups wanting the implementation of a global “Children’s Rights

by Design” and “Safety By Design” approach on TikTok in particular.
