Twitter bans sharing private information without individuals' consent

The Wall Street Journal reported that the social network has said it will ban the sharing of images and videos from private people without the consent of individuals.

Twitter reported that sharing personal information “can potentially violate a person's privacy” and noted that coercive measures can be taken when images or videos are posted without the individual's consent. The policy has been applied in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and European Union countries for several years.
